Rui Manuel César Costa is a former footballer who played as a midfielder. He is one of the best Portuguese footballers of his generation, and one of the best ever in his role. He was nicknamed "The Master" because of his high technical quality. He reached the apex of his career in Italy, first playing for 7 years in Fiorentina, where he won two Italian Cups and an Italian Super Cup, and then in Milan, team with which he won an Italian Serie A, an Italian Cup, an Italian Super Cup, a UEFA Champions League and a UEFA Super Cup.
He ended his career as a football player in Portugal, in his Benfica, team of which he is currently the president.
