Description

Ticket or the 1984/85 European Cup Final, played on 29/05/1985, in which Juventus and Liverpool faced each other.

The stadium designated by UEFA for the final was the Heysel Stadium in Brussels, a place that less than an hour before the start of the match was the scene of the massacre in which 39 people died, including thirty-two Italians, four Belgians, two French and a Northern Irishman.

Due to the inadequacy of the order service and the safety systems of the stadium it was impossible to stem the tumult of the many English ultras who lashed out at the guests of sector Z, an area intended for neutral fans. Hundreds of people were injured in an attempt to save themselves.

The civil and football authorities, for reasons of public order, still decided to let the game play. The starting whistle was postponed for one hour and 25 minutes.

Both teams initially refused to play, but they were then forced by UEFA and the Belgian authorities. It was feared that any renunciation could lead to the revolt of the other sectors unaware of the incident.

The game is played in a sidereal atmosphere, with sector Z now empty after the unspeakable disaster.

It is Platini from the spot that brings the Bianconeri to 1-0, a result that remains unchanged until the final whistle that decrees Juventus victory.

Over the years, various initiatives have been undertaken to commemorate the victims of this tragedy.
