Lancel
Lancel is a high-end leather goods house founded in Paris in 1876, an icon of the French style loved by divas and common women since Angèle and Alphonse Lancel opened in Passage de Petites Ecuries what today we would call a concept store of absolute trend. The lively atmosphere of the Paris Belle Époque made it an immediate success for a cosmopolitan and affluent clientele.
The essence of the brand was already defined: the quality of leather processing, attention to detail, the clarity of the structured lines, the perfect balance between useful and futile, between functional and frivolous. In 1929 Lancel opened the boutique in Place de l'Opera which over the years became a real institution for Parisians attracting the stars of the show of the thirties. Lancel is still at number 8 of Place de l'Opera and even today’s stars love and wear its bags which appreciate the absolutely original creativity that derives from the constant dialogue between the most refined craftsmanship and the wonderful world of an archive with over 140 years of history.
